Grants come in all different shapes and sizes. Grants are a great way to provide funding or an avenue for people to request funds to close a funding gap or meet a financial need. Wheels for Wheels is excited to offer a General Resource Grant and Adaptive Sports Grant. On the Grants Page you will also be able to find grant resources from other great non-profits, corporations and Federal and State governments.

Financial and/or resource assistance to help make everyday life easier for people with disabilities by allowing them to have greater independence. This includes personal or automotive solutions that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities.

Assistive Technology (AT)

AT makes everyday life easier for people with disabilities by allowing them to have greater independence. AT is defined as any item, piece of equipment, software program or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities.

Personal Solutions

Personal solutions include financial assistance for accessibility modifications to a home, resource assistance for wheelchairs and ramp supplies, or any other specialized equipment that may be necessary to enhance the home life of a disabled person.

Adaptive Sports

The purpose of the Adaptive Sports Grant is to provide support to athletes with physical challenges so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and athletics. This grant is open to athletes of all levels, from beginner to expert – and can cover expenses for adaptive sports equipment, coaching/training and competition expenses including travel and accommodations.

As funding allows, Wheels for Wheels will consider funding accessibility modifications to vehicles as well as other needs for accessible vehicles, including repairs and maintenance.

Laughing at My Nightmare is a non-profit group that works to improve the quality of life for people living with muscular dystrophy by providing free adaptive and medical equipment. LAMN provides grants for Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment.  laughingatmynightmare.com    

Driveability FCA – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) offers a program that provides up to a $1,000 rebate when purchasing adaptive equipment for your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram or FIAT vehicles. fcausdriveability.com

Toyota Mobility Assistance Program – Toyota provides cash reimbursement of up to $1000 of the cost of any aftermarket adaptive equipment or conversion for drivers and/or passengers, when installed on any eligible purchased or leased new Toyota vehicle. toyotamobility.com/financial-assistance

Help Hope Live is a non-profit organization that supports community-based fundraising for people with unmet medical expenses and related costs due to catastrophic injuries or illnesses – including medications, durable medical equipment, home health care, wheelchair-accessibility modifications, physical therapy, innovative treatments, medical travel and temporary relocation and emergency living assistance. helphopelive.org

Honda Customer Mobility Assistance Plan – Honda will reimburse up to $1,000 to each eligible original retail customer for expenses incurred to purchase and install qualifying adaptive vehicle equipment on any eligible purchased or leased Honda vehicle. automobiles.honda.com/mobility-assistance
